Run the numbers
before deciding.
Three calculations to get the right order of magnitude in two minutes. They use the current French scales and give an indicative estimate; a precise figure requires a full review of your situation.
Inheritance tax for children
Estimate of the tax due by each child, with the €100,000 allowance per child and the progressive scale applied.
Assumption: direct-line succession, no surviving spouse and no life assurance, estate split equally. Usufruct and specific allowances are not taken into account.
French income tax
Progressive scale applied to the family quotient, with marginal and average tax rates.
Current progressive scale. Excludes the decote, the family quotient cap, tax reductions and credits.
Savings capacity and future capital
Projection of capital built up through regular monthly contributions, with compound interest.
Constant return assumed, before management fees, tax and social charges. Past performance is no guide to future performance.
A figure is not a strategy.
These estimates give the order of magnitude. The real work starts when we look at your actual situation: matrimonial regime, structure of your assets, time horizon, family plans.
